THE GREAT IMAGINING SCHOOLS PROGRAMME 2025
We are designing an interactive, environmental programme for schools and communities in regions throughout the UK. The results of the creative pathways will be shared through events, festivals and online panels.
We are initially starting with three districts in Staffordshire in the West Midlands: Cannock Chase, Stafford, Lichfield (as well as some Birmingham schools). Working with three district councils as well as local community groups and University departments, we are planning to track behaviour change over time as the whole district is taken on a creative playful journey of carbon literacy and climate and ecological adaptation.
Our challenge to the communities of the Staffordshire region this year is our 10% campaign: 10% MORE OF THE GOOD STUFF and 10% LESS OF THE BAD STUFF. In practise this means to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 10% as well as increase biodiversity by 10%, increase health and well-being across the region by 10% and community resilience by 10% (partly measured through membership and attendance of clubs, associations and groups).
The impact of the programme will be measured in partnership with experts and academics from education, climate, ecology, health and community engagement.
