Hybrid is constructed from collected flint and cast porcelain bird wings, the work experiments with balance and connectivity. The ecosystems we inhabit, biological, physical, political and cultural are complex and interdependent. The images were taken at Wild Ken Hill a project to restore nature, fight climate change, and grow healthy food across a coastal farm in West Norfolk. It is the home of BBC Spring Watch. 
 
Jane Scobie is an environmental artist whose practice explores the fluid boundaries between the human and the nonhuman and the reciprocal nature of care. Current research is focussed on the strand line as a witness to climate breakdown. Recent work includes Edgelands (2022) - a collaboration and sculpture installation at Wild Ken Hill, a project to restore nature, fight climate change, and grow healthy food across a coastal farm in West Norfolk, the home of BBC Spring Watch. Artist in Resident at Ground Work Gallery, Kings Lynn focused on Extraction (2023). Joya:Air - Art and Environment Residency (2024) looking at rainwater harvesting. 
 
As a visual artist Jane is a passionate advocate for social change and puts engagement and collaboration at the heart of her practice. Jane has a First-Class degree in Fine Art and is currently completing an MA in Arts and Science at Central Saint Martins. In 2022 Jane was awarded a British Council Venice Biennale Fellowship. Previously Jane had a successful career working as a senior leader for a range of international non-governmental organisations, she is a Clore Social LeadershipFellow.
